Feburary 3 was Setsubun in Japan, Setsubun is the event for the close of winter. They say evil appear at the close of season,so we scatter dried beans to drive away evil spirits. When we throw beans, we shout, “Devils out, fortune in!” Afterwards, we eat as many beans as we are years old.
