Un Koji "giapponese" vedrebbe Mazinga come un "fratello" o come qualcosa di vivo. Un Koji "cristiano", invece, avrebbe visto Mazinga come qualcosa di non vivo. Forse il robot gli sarebbe piaciuto molto, ma lui non l'avrebbe mai considerato come qualcosa di vivo ... questo è inconcepibile per gli occidentali, che non credono negli spiriti o nella vita degli oggetti inanimati.
