Il nome del disegnatore, Megumu Matsumoto, non lo conosco (credo che abbia disegnato un manga di Gaiking, ma devo controllare...), ma lo stile mi ricorda molto quello di Ota (sono d'accordo con te, Iso), che forse a quel tempo era il disegno più frequente...comunque ha un tratto a mio avviso molto gradevole!
(Tra l'altro, "Uchu enban Daisenso" mi sembra un nome un pò difficile: lo so che è l'originale giapponese, ma per comodità non potremmo chiamarlo con un nome italiano? Chessò, "La grande battaglia del disco volante spaziale", "la battaglia degli Uforobot", "La prima versione di Goldrake"?

Il Duke Fleed di Matsumoto è simile a quello dell'anime di "Daisenso": ha le basette molto più corte e uno sguardo meno "dolce".
Telonna: nel manga è meno truccata e forse un pò più sexy...
Blacky: nel manga la la testa più piatta, e sembra di conseguenza più ottuso e cattivo...comunque in ogni caso Hydargos è MOLTO meglio...
Le prime pagine color paglierino hanno proprio il sapore di una volta...inizia la storia con la classica fuga e atterraggio del nostro Duke.
Venusia coi capelli neri a doppia coda di cavallo è irriconoscibile, a tratti sembra un maschio...
mi sembra comunque meglio caratterizzata della sua controparte nell'anime di "Daisenso": ha anche un suo certo fascino...
(da notare che Alcor non compare nemmeno nella storia: questo sottolinea il fatto che non c'entrava proprio. Un Alcor amico di Actarus andava benissimo, non c'era bisogno di un Koji col suo ingombrante passato...ma qui sono fuori argomento)
Come fa Duke a chiamare "idiota" la principessa Telonna? Cattivo, cattivo, non si parla così alle donne!
Qui c'è molta differenza tra il nostro Actarus e quello di Daisenso...

Il dilemma di Duke sul fatto di vivere da terrestre o combattere è ben descritto, anche se non raggiunge ancora i toni drammatici della serie di Goldrake...
E' bello per una volta vedere un flashback come quello di Fleed descritto in modo dettagliato per una volta: la storia del passato di Actarus è sempre stata così nebulosa...almeno nel caso di "Daisenso" è più chiara!
Telonna che fa aggredire Blacky dalla sua pantera è fantastica...
Vederla anche ingelosita di Venusia mi ha fatto effetto...chissà Rubina cosa avrebbe fatto al suo posto!
Interessante poi la prima versione dei soldati di Vega...non hanno il peduncolo sulla testa e sembrano degli uomini-insetto...
Tra l'altro, mi ricordo che in una puntata Goldrake a bordo dell'astronave era stato incatenato, proprio come nella storia di Daisenso descritta qui...interessante vedere quanti sono stati gli spunti!
Il Gattaiger sembra un Duke Fleed formato gigante...evidentemente hanno voluto fare un robot simile al pilota!
La morte di Telonna e la fine di Blacky sono resi in modo magistrale...(tutta l'astronave di Gattaiger è diventata una gigantesca lama rotante! Questa poi....

Bellissima la scena della morte di Telonna (chissà quali saranno state le sue ultime parole? Anche qui il richiamo al "fiore rosso"? Però Telonna è bionda...no, non credo che ci sia stato il richiamo...

Duke Fleed quindi non torna al pianeta natale, ma va a fare il guerriero dello spazio tornando ogni tanto da Venusia...interessante variazione del finale.
In questa storia, il legame tra Venusia e Duke Fleed mi sembra più esplicito che in Goldrake...
